A Hopkinsville woman is facing charges of complicity to manslaughter and drug trafficking following investigation into a fatal overdose.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, Gladys Henry was found deceased at a home on West 20th Street on December 8, and the medical examiner ruled her death to be from an overdose caused by methamphetamine and fentanyl. Through investigation, 53-year-old Debbie Elliot of Hopkinsville was identified as a suspect.
On Friday of last week, Elliot allegedly admitted during an interview that the victim came to her house and used illegal narcotics that were provided by Elliot in the hours leading up to her death.
Elliot was taken into custody and charged with complicity to second-degree manslaughter, complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
She was additionally charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, following a search of her residence.
