A federal grand jury in Bowling Green, Kentucky, returned an indictment charging a Logan County man with methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to a news release, on February 15, 2024, in Warren County, 39-year-old Joshua O. Duncan possessed with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine mixture and 400 grams or more of fentanyl mixture. Duncan is also charged with possessing a .38 caliber revolver in furtherance of his drug trafficking. In addition to the revolver, Duncan also possessed a .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol, a .380 caliber semiautomatic pistol, and a.40 caliber semiautomatic pistol. Duncan was prohibited from possessing a firearm because he had previously been convicted of three separate felony offenses in Logan Circuit Court.
If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
There is no parole in the federal system.
