Officers from the Madisonville Police Department arrested Scott Armstrong after he reportedly assaulted a victim with a baseball bat on Sunday.
According to a report from police, dispatchers received a call regarding a welfare check on a person who was seen stumbling on the sidewalk. Officers located the victim on Hanson Street and they reportedly told officers that they had been drinking alcohol with Armstrong when he became violent.
The victim alleges that Armstrong hit them in the eye with a baseball bat. According to officers, the victim’s right eye was bloodshot and swollen and they also had scratches and bruises on their legs.
Officers then located Armstrong at a residence on North Scott Street where he reportedly attempted to flee from officers. Once detained, Armstrong allegedly told officers that he hit the victim, but denied using a baseball bat.
Armstrong was charged with second-degree assault domestic violence.
