Mayor Knight invites students to join the Hopkinsville Youth Council

Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight announced the return of the Mayor’s Youth Council which is now in its eighth year. 

The program invites local high school juniors and seniors from public, private and homeschool settings to apply for a chance to address issues in the community, suggest ideas and enhance their leadership and civic skills. 

Mayor Knight encourages students to not miss the unique opportunity to lead and make a difference. 

To apply, students must submit a resume, two letters of recommendation and a signed participant release form.

Finalists will be invited for in-person interviews between October 27 and October 30.
Selection notices will be emailed by November 3, with the official class announced November 4 at the City Council meeting. A mandatory orientation will follow on November 15.
