Montgomery County government officials are preparing to host grand opening ceremonies for the new northern branches of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library and the Montgomery County Animal Care and Control on September 13.
The new library and the animal control facility are located in north Clarksville at 435 Jordan Road. In a news release, Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden says the site reflects a forward-thinking approach to meeting the growing needs of the community. By combining essential services in one location, he says they are creating a shared space that encourages community engagement.
The North Branch Library is set to have expanded resources, updated technology, study and meeting areas and maker spaces. Clarksville-Montgomery County Library Director Christina Riedel says they are deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and looks forward to developing collaborative programs with their neighbors at Animal Care and Control.
The North Branch Animal Control Facility is expected to provide animal care and control services, adoptions and comes with a surgical suite. Montgomery County Animal Care and Control Director says the new facility will increase their animal capacity and is a major step toward becoming a no-kill shelter.
