Mother and child rescued from vehicle upside down in a creek in Marshall Co.

A woman and her young child were rescued from a creek Tuesday night in Marshall County.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with numerous emergency services, responded to Lakeview Church Road for reports of a vehicle upside down in a creek. The caller was the driver of the car, who also had a young child in the vehicle with her.

Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle upside down, with the front windows completely under the water, with the vehicle filling with water. Deputies jumped into the water and began working to break the windows, finally breaking one—they were able to pull the child from the vehicle and give her to medical personnel.

They were then able to help the driver from the vehicle, and both were transported to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment.
