Museums Director invites the community to upcoming history-focused events

March is set to be a busy month for the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, and Executive Director Alissa Keller recently appeared on WHOP to share what they have in store for the community.

Women’s History Month is well underway, and Keller says they plan to host a History on Tap event at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company on March 26, spotlighting women who have had a historical impact in Christian County. At the event, Keller says local female nonprofit leaders will be reading short biographies about these notable women.

Before History on Tap, Keller says they will be hosting the Edgar Cayce Hometown Seminar from March 20 to March 22. Cayce was a psychic born in Christian County in 1877 and later became known as the Sleeping Prophet and the Father of Holistic Medicine.

Following the COVID-19 Pandemic, the celebration spotlighting Cayce was shortened, but Keller says this year marks the return of the full weekend seminar. Published author and professor Adam Stokes will be the keynote speaker, and Keller says he will be talking about the lost continent of Atlantis.

Over the weekend, multiple learning sessions will be hosted featuring activities sharing Cayce’s work and his connection to Christian County.
