Murder suspect Oziya Narcisse has a new trial date, following a hearing in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Narcisse had priorly been represented by both public defender Doug Moore and defense attorney Olivia Adams, but now Adams will be the lead lawyer on this case. Narcisse had been set to go to trial this week, but due to recent developments, Adams says a rescheduling of that trial is necessary.
So, Judge John Atkins set a new trial date of April 27, with the plan that trial could last four-days. Adams also requested that ballistics evidence be turned over to the defense, but Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Mark Gilbert contends there is none to hand over.
Narcisse is accused of fatally shooting Isaiah McCoy at a party in Oak Grove in 2024, when he would have been under the age of 18 at the time.
A pretrial conference was set for April 1.
