Soon, there will be a night to truly remember at the James E. Bruce Convention Center, as the Night to Shine event takes over with dancing, fun and friends.
The event is put on locally each year by Hillcrest Baptist Church and is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, along with local supporters and volunteers, and Kristy Rushing with the program says it’s all about providing that prom experience to local youth with special needs, giving them the chance to have the same fun everyone has had, despite their individual circumstances.
Guests will get the real read carpet experience, with limo rides, food, games and of course, plenty of dancing, with those guests also being crowned as Kings and Queens of the prom.
They’re always accepting of volunteers for this event, with plenty to do to make sure the nights go off without a hitch, so Rushing encourages those interested to reach out to Hillcrest.
This event is for youth 14 years of age and up who have special needs that might keep them from taking part in a traditional prom. It’s all set for February 7 and 6 p.m. so if you have a loved one that would want to take part, register online at hillcrestbc.net.
