A crash on the Pennyrile Parkway Sunday afternoon sent a Radcliff man to a Nashville hospital.
It happened near the 17-mile marker of I-169 around 5 p.m., according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department report, when a vehicle driven southbound by 20-year-old Devin Fitzpatrick of Radcliff was allegedly driving erratically when he left the roadway and struck guardrail.
The vehicle reportedly caught fire, but was successfully extinguished by citizens who stopped to help after witnessing the crash.
Fitzpatrick was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, and from there, flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of numerous injuries.
The front of the vehicle was completely destroyed by the impact, leaving pieces of it scattered along the roadway.
