One in custody following shots fired, barricaded subject in Clarksville

A man is in custody following an incident of shots fired that resulted in a barricaded subject at an apartment in the 300 block of South Lancaster Road in Clarksville Wednesday.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded to the area just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call that shots had been fired and a projectile had entered a downstairs apartment from the apartment above.

No one was struck by gunfire and no one was injured.

When officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the subject in the upstairs apartment, he reportedly barricaded himself inside, leading to a stand-off that last another two hours.

Ultimately, Clarksville PD Crisis Negotiators were able to work with the suspect, who surrendered peacefully.  He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
