A Hopkinsville woman was sent to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment following a two-vehicle wreck on East Ninth Street early Friday morning.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Romeo Morales of Hopkinsville was heading east on East Ninth while a vehicle operated by 40-year-old Jamie Welch of Hopkinsville was making a left turn onto South Virginia Street.
Morales reportedly ran the red light and struck Welch, causing hot coffee to spill onto her legs, burning her. Welch was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment, and while Morales had a swollen wrist, he declined EMS.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
