One injured in officer-involved shooting in Murray

Kentucky State Police are investigating following an officer-involved shooting in Murray on Monday. 

It happened at approximately 11:45 p.m., according to the Murray Police Department, on Brooklyn Drive when officers with the Murray Police Department responded to reports of an “out-of-control” subject allegedly armed with a knife. Upon arrival, the suspect—who is not named—reportedly left the apartment and charged at officers with the knife.

That’s when a Murray Police Officer fired his duty weapon, hitting the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.

Kentucky State Police have been contacted to conduct an investigation into the incident, as according to the department’s policies.
