The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a shooting on North McPherson Avenue from Monday afternoon that has killed a man.
Public Information Officer Collette Marfil tells WHOP News that the shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. and when officers arrived at the residence in the 100 block of North McPherson they discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
First aid was given by officers on scene and the victim was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he would later succumb to his injuries.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
No suspects have been described as detectives continue their investigation.
