PADD receives $500k grant to go towards workforce development in the region

The Pennyrile Area Development District has received a large grant from the Delta Regional Authority to help expand workforce training opportunities in the region.

According to PADD, the funding was awarded as one of four projects through the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program and PADD received $509,000 to go towards the West Kentucky Workforce Board.

That funding will be used to expanding training programs, including credentialing and apprenticeship programs, while also being used to help connect workers with sustainable employment. This project reflects ongoing collaboration between DRA, Kentucky’s Office of the Governor, and Local Development Districts to bring strategic investments to the region.

By expanding access to training and technology, this award directly benefits communities across Western Kentucky, improving quality of life and supporting long-term economic growth.
