Pennyrile Electric announces $2 increase to customer charge

Heads up Pennyrile Electric members—starting in October, you’ll see a $2 increase to your monthly electric bill.

That’s according to Pennyrile Electric, who announced an adjustment to their monthly customer charge Monday morning, a move that should help offset rising costs the Cooperative is facing for electrical distribution.

They elaborate by saying the customer charge is a fixed portion of each bill that helps cover the basic costs of maintaining and operating the electric system—such as poles, wires, meters, and equipment—ensuring reliable service.

This adjustment of $2 to the customer charge does not affect energy usage rates.
