Pennyroyal Arts Council invites community to February shows

The sound of Motown is coming to Hopkinsville, as the Shadows of the 60s pay tribute to music legends from the era with a show at the Alhambra Theatre on Valentine’s Day.

Shadows of the 60’s is a tribute band that performs songs by Motown legends such as The Supremes, The Four Tops, Temptations, Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight. In a news release, the Pennyroyal Arts Council say the show is sure to make for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day.

Tickets cost $50 and the show gets underway at 7 p.m.

Then later in the month, musician Shaun Boothe will be bringing his Unauthorized Biography Series – Live Your Legacy to the Alhambra. The arts council describes the show as a celebration of cultural icons such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Barack Obama, Bob Marley and Malala Yousafzai.

Boothe is a recording artist, motivational speaker and the founder of the Live Your Legacy Academy which focuses on educating and empowering the youth.

The arts council shared that half of Boothe’s show is like a TED talk while the other half is a hip-hop concert spotlighting notable change makers. The performance is also designed for students from sixth grade to twelfth grade. The show is set for February 20 at 9:30 a.m. and noon and tickets cost $10.

Tickets are on sale at pennyroyalarts.org.
