In August, the AMC Movie Theater at Governor’s Square Mall permanently closed its doors, but it was recently announced that those doors will reopen to what will soon be Phoenix Theaters.
Governor’s Square Mall Spokesperson, Joe Bell describes Phoenix Theaters as a first-class operation and looks forward to bringing it to the Clarksville community. Bell says the theater will include 10 screens that have 4k laser digital projectors, surround sound and heated and reclinable seats.
Phoenix Theaters is set to host a grand opening in May 2025 and Bell says he expects the community to really enjoy the new movie watching experience. At other mall locations, Bell says Phoenix Theaters were head-to-head competitors with much larger movie theaters.
Along with the Phoenix Theaters, the mall has many other renovations underway including new flooring, ceilings and the addition of Dave & Buster’s which is set to open by the end of 2024. To celebrate the renovations, the mall is hosting a grand reopening on November 9.
With the new theaters, Bell says he looks forward to the mall becoming more of an entertainment destination.
