Hopkinsville Police arrested 24-year-old Octavian Tyler of Hopkinsville after he reportedly led law enforcement on a vehicle and foot pursuit on Saturday.
According to a report from police, an officer witnessed a vehicle operated by Tyler on Old Major Lane that failed to stop at an intersection and went airborne. The officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but Tyler allegedly failed to stop.
The pursuit continued east on Pyle Lane, where Tyler reportedly ran another stop sign and drove into oncoming traffic multiple times before wrecking at the intersection of Pyle Lane and Cox Mill Road.
Following the wreck, Tyler reportedly fled from the scene on foot, running north on Cox Mill Road before reportedly surrendering to law enforcement.
Officers reportedly found that Tyler’s vehicle was stolen and that he was in possession of a handgun containing stolen ammunition.
Tyler was charged with two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police, two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, reckless driving, possessing restricted ammo during a felony, disregarding a stop sign and having no operator’s license.
