Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Kerrie Waddell of Hopkinsville after a victim reported that Waddell assaulted her on Friday.
A report was made by a resident on Moores Court who said she had gotten into a verbal argument with Waddell which reportedly turned physical. According to the victim, Waddell grabbed her neck choking her, damaged her phone by throwing it and left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The victim also shared that Waddell was in possession of a gun she owned that was reported as stolen. After responding to the victim, officers located Waddell at a residence on Hazel Street.
Officers searched the residence and found three handguns, two of which were allegedly stolen, marijuana and paraphernalia. The victim’s handgun was also found at the residence.
Waddell was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree strangulation and receiving stolen property.
