Police arrest man for reportedly fleeing on foot after speeding

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Artavius Irvin of Hopkinsville early Saturday morning after he reportedly fled on foot from law enforcement after he was witnessed speeding.

According to a report from police, an officer observed Irvin driving a vehicle with a rear license plate that was not illuminated. Irvin’s vehicle then reportedly fled from the officer and was later located in a parking lot along Calvin Drive.

Once located, Irvin allegedly got out of his vehicle and fled on foot into a building where he barricaded himself inside.

Irvin was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and not having his rear license plate illuminated.
