Oak Grove Police arrested 49-year-old Walter Bryson Jr. after he reportedly stabbed a man during a physical altercation on Saturday.

Officers were called to a residence on Pembroke Oak Grove Road after a victim called 911 and reported that they had been stabbed with a box cutter. Officers made contact with the victim and found that they had been stabbed in the neck.

The victim reportedly told officers that Bryson was the person who stabbed them and pointed him out. Bryson was at the scene among some bystanders and reportedly admitted to stabbing the victim but claimed he did so in self-defense.

Bryson reportedly told officers that he was contacted by the homeowner to do some floor work. He entered the residence through the backdoor and made contact with the victim. Bryson alleges that he and the victim began arguing and they threatened to have one their dogs attack him.

Bryson says he retrieved the box cutter before the victim allegedly hit him with a mop bucket wringer which led to a physical altercation. During the altercation, Bryson reportedly cut the victim with the box cutter.
