As Hopkinsville Police executed a probation violation warrant against 27-year-old Charles Berry of Hopkinsville on Sunday, they reportedly found him to be in possession of drugs.
According to a report from police, officers were working to locate Berry to arrest him for a probation violation. Berry was reportedly located at residence on East 1st Street and detained.
Before he was set to be transported to the Christian County Jail, Berry reportedly requested to go back into the residence to retrieve a shirt. Officers accompanied Berry into the residence and allegedly saw white residue, a straw and a scale in Berry’s room.
Following this observation, officers petitioned for a search warrant and once it was obtained, they reportedly found suspected methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Berry’s room.
Berry was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
