Portions of I-24 in Lyon, McCracken counties to be restricted during patchwork

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is set to perform some patchwork on Interstate 24 that will result in lane restrictions in Lyon and McCracken Counties on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, I-24 westbound in McCracken County will be restricted to one lane near mile point 15 while road crews perform milling work. Then in Lyon County, I-24 westbound from mile point 35.6 to mile point 36.3 will be restricted to one lane while crews start milling work.

Milling operations will be done during the day and paving operations will take place at night.

On Friday, I-24 eastbound in Lyon County will be restricted to one lane between mile point 36.5 and mile point 37.8 for daytime milling and overnight paving.

The patching work is part of a larger resurfacing project scheduled for mid-June. The cabinet advises motorists to slow down and use caution when approaching active work areas.
