Murder suspect Earl Guillemet had one more pretrial conference set in Christian Circuit Court, with a possible resolution in the works.
Guillemet—who is charged with murder in the fatal shooting death of Dolores Hernandez—appeared before Circuit Judge John Atkins, alongside defense attorney Ramon McGee and Commonwealth’s Attorney Maureen Leamy.
Leamy and McGee both believe a resolution could be reached, but if it’s not by the time they return to court for a pretrial hearing, they’ll set it for trial.
Guillemet is accused of fatally shooting Dolores Hernandez May 3 in the 300 block of East 18th Street. Witnesses and security camera footage from the area identified a silver Chevy truck as leaving the scene after the shooting and a Black male with gray facial hair was seen walking towards the victim’s residence just moments before the shots fired call.
Police would also eventually recover the gun Guillemet allegedly used to kill Hernandez and he was arrested on charges of murder, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
