A Hopkinsville woman is behind bars following a vehicle pursuit Monday afternoon, and she’s facing numerous charges.
Hopkinsville police arrested 38-year-old Lindsay Kio and charged her with felony theft by unlawful taking, first-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief and operating on a suspended or revoked license, after she allegedly led officers on a pursuit that began on Old Madisonville Road and came to an end on North Main Street.
Officers had responded to Old Madisonville Road around 10:30 p.m. for reports of a theft in progress, where a vehicle was stolen from a drive away. That vehicle was found heading southbound on Old Madisonville Road by a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy and when they attempted a traffic stop, Kio reportedly fled.
During the pursuit, Kio allegedly slammed the brakes, causing an HPD cruiser to hit the back of the vehicle, causing minor damage.
After several spike strips were deployed, the pursuit ended in front of the Hopkinsville Police Department, and Kio had to be physically removed from the vehicle. A search reportedly revealed a baggie of suspected meth and numerous syringes.
