The Kentucky House Agriculture Committee will have a new leader at its head, as Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke has been appointed as chair.
Speaking with WHOP recently, Representative Dossett says he couldn’t be more honored or prouder to have gained this leadership appointment, coming from humble beginnings in the agriculture community. He says agriculture impacts Kentucky as a whole, and touches everyone’s lives in some way.
He feels he brings a lot to the table in the way of experience in both the legislature and in agriculture knowledge, and he plans to work closely with Ag. Commissioner Johnathan Shell and other ag. leaders.
Representative Dossett says he’s committed to serving Kentucky’s farmers to the best of his ability, and he’s thankful to leadership for their faith in him with this appointment.
Lawmakers return to Frankfort for the 2025 short session of the Kentucky General Assembly on January 7, and they’ll hit the ground running, with many legislators already pre-filing plenty of bills to keep them busy.
