Road work is set to begin on Interstate 24 next week in Christian County, as some much-needed repairs to the roadway will get underway.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the maintenance project will begin on Wednesday along an eight-mile section of I-24 in the westbound lanes at the West Fork Red River Bridge. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and there will be a reduced speed limit in place.
In addition, crews will also be making guardrail upgrades on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-24 between the Tennessee State Line near the 93-mile-marker and the U.S. 41-A interchange.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
