Sheriff races decided: DeArmond wins Christian, Sandbrink wins Trigg, Turner wins Todd

After debates and months of campaigning, the people of Christian County who took part in Tuesday’s primary election have voted for Sheriff Tyler DeArmond to serve another term as sheriff.

Of the 4,405 votes that were cast in the race Tuesday, 3,902 cast it in favor of DeArmond, while opponent Erik Pacheco received 503 votes. Speaking with WHOP News, Sheriff DeArmond says he’s honored that the people have decided he’s worthy of continuing to serve, saying it’s been his honor to do so.

He in particular thinks it shows trust in his staff and the work they’re doing at the Sheriff’s Department, and he says they will continue to protect and serve to the best of their ability.

With no opponent against DeArmond, he will continue to be Christian County’s Sheriff.

Christian County wasn’t the only sheriff race decided Tuesday night, as Patrick Turner will be Todd County’s next sheriff, defeating Mitch Fraizer in that race with 749 of the 1,065 votes cast.

And over in Trigg County, incumbent Sheriff Aaron Acree lost his bid for re-election against opponent Mike Sandbrink, with Sandbrink getting 1,733 votes of the 2,573 votes cast. Neither Sandbrink or Turner are facing opposition in November, so both counties know who their next sheriffs will be.
