Smiley retires from Housing Authority after 25 years, Faulkner steps into role

Hopkinsville Housing Authority Executive Director, Vickie Smiley plans to retire after working with the housing authority for 25 years.

According to a news release, Smiley started working with the organization as an administrative assistant before working as the director of human resources and then as the director of operations before serving as the executive director for 14 years. Smiley’s last day working with the housing authority will be May 23.

Laura Faulkner, who formerly worked with Community and Development Services (CDS) was hired on May 1 to be executive director of the housing authority. Faulkner is coming to the housing authority after spending 16 years with CDS.

Faulkner shared that she appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the already successful legacy Smiley created during her career at the housing authority.
