State selects first round of medical cannabis dispensary license recipients

The Office of Medical Cannabis announced their first round of selectees to receive medical cannabis dispensary licenses on Monday.

The selection process took place at the Kentucky Lottery Corporation in Louisville and 36 applicants were selected. In the Pennyrile region, Mallard Club LLC in Oak Grove along with ARKY Capital Investments LLC, River City Relief House LLC and DPDMJF Cannabis Holding Company LLC all in Eddyville were drawn for licenses.

Gov. Andy Beshear called Monday’s lottery a major step toward ensuring that Kentuckians suffering from cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions have access to safe and affordable medical cannabis.

Office Executive Director Sam Flynn shared that they received over 4,000 dispensary applications and around 2,840 of those applicants were in Monday’s lottery.

In the next lottery round, dispensary license applicants in the Kentuckiana and Bluegrass regions will be drawn.
