The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a home invasion from Friday night that ended with a suspect shot.
According to a news release, it happened around 5 p.m. in the 600 block of Fowler Road in Madisonville when deputies responded to a residence where a person had sustained a gunshot wound. Deputies arrived on scene to discovered that a suspect intruder had forced their way into the home, where a struggle ensued with the homeowner.
That’s when the homeowner reportedly got a firearm and shot the suspect. The individual’s status is currently unknown.
The names of those involved have not yet been released as the investigation continues.
