The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating after a teen sustained a gunshot wound to the face on Oak Hurst Drive Friday night.
HPD Public Information Officer Justin Rios says officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Oak Hurst for reports that a 15-year-old victim had been shot in the face. Officers were quickly able to locate the victim, who was alert and conscious at the scene.
The victim was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. Investigation into the circumstances behind the shooting remain under investigation.
