Three indicted on manslaughter charges in Todd Co. fatal overdose

Three people have been indicted by a Todd County Grand Jury for second-degree manslaughter in connection to the fatal overdose of a man in June.

An indictment for second-degree manslaughter was returned against Whitney Harper of Hopkinsville, while 62-year-old Kimberly Moorefield, and 41-year-old Shannon Moorefield, both of Elkton, were indicted for complicity to second-degree manslaughter. Shannon Moorefield is also indicted on charges of trafficking in fentanyl derivatives, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender.

Harper and Shannon Moorefield are accused of providing fentanyl to a 21-year-old in Elkton, which ultimately lead to his death, which was ruled as an overdose.
