Three music leaders named as Assistant Band Directors for new Christian Co. High School

Three familiar faces have been named as the first of the assistant band directors for the Christian County Tiger Band when the two schools come together in 2026.

Announced by both bands Friday, Director of Fine Arts Anthony Darnall will be joined by longtime percussion instructor and Assistant Director of Bands for CCHS Calvin Warren. Warren will serve as Assistant Director and Director of Percussion at the new facility, building on his leadership with the students that started in 2020.

Warren earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Murray State University and served as Director of Bands at Todd County Central High School.

Addisson Grimm has been named an Assistant Director of Bands and the Director of Jazz, coming from a similar position from Hopkinsville High School. Grimm founded the Hopkinsville High School Jazz Ensemble as an after-school group during his first year, transforming students—many with no prior jazz experience—into a high-caliber ensemble.

Grimm holds a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Louisville, a Master of Arts in Teaching in Integrated Music from the University of the Cumberlands, and a Bachelor of Music from Murray State University.

Grant Jones will step into the role of Assistant Director of Bands, coming from his current role as the Director of Bands at Hopkinsville High School. While leading the music program, the Hopkinsville High School Marching Band has been named a Kentucky Music Educators Association Class State Finalist in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2024, and 2025. In 2016, the band earned the KMEA 4A State Championship, the first in school history, followed by a State Runner-Up finish in 2017.

Jones holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Murray State University and a Master of Music Education/Teacher Leadership from Western Kentucky University.
