Todd Fiscal Court votes to leave tax rate the same

The tax rates in Todd County are looking to stay the same as they’ve been in recent years, after Todd County Fiscal Court approved them on first-reading at Fridays’ meeting.

If approved on second-reading at a special-called meeting set for Monday at 9 a.m., the ordinance would leave the tax rate on personal property 9.9 cents per $100 of assessed value, which is unchanged from the last several years. Due to property reassessments, that does make it above the compensating rate.

Magistrates heard an update on an outdoor tornado siren project, with Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith saying the first siren is set to go up before too long, and they’re expecting the other sirens to start coming in soon.

And then, attention will soon turn to Election Day in November, but before that, the ability to request an absentee ballot is opening on September 21, and Todd County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan says her office can help you obtain one as well if needed.

You can find out more about requesting an absentee ballot, or checking to see where voting centers will be the day of, by going online to govote.ky.gov.
