The threat for severe weather remains for western Kentucky and middle Tennessee that afternoon, with a tornado watch in place until 3 p.m. for Christian, Todd, Trigg and surrounding counties.
Those same areas also remain under an Enhanced Risk, with Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Weilgos saying all modes of severe weather remain on the table, including damaging winds and tornados. She says a cold front will make its way across the region this afternoon, and until that passes, severe storms can develop.
She says all the ingredients for bad weather are present, so make sure you’re staying weather aware today and have safety plans prepared.
Anytime from mid-morning until later this afternoon has the potential for severe storms to develop.
Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for more on this developing storm system.
