Trial delayed in Oak Grove murder case

Trial has been delayed in the case against murder suspect Oziya Narcisse, after issues arose with witnesses set to testify at trial.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Mark Gilbert started with the problem on his end—the Medical Examiner will not be available to testify at the trial that was set to start on July 30. Public defender Doug Moore says another witness in the case who is currently a minor has also proven difficult to get back to Kentucky in time for the trial, due to technicalities with DCBS.

So, Judge John Atkins moved the trial date back to now begin on October 13.

Evidence that had been sought for some time in the case has now arrived, including the autopsy report.

Narcisse is charged with murder in the fatal shooting death of Isaiah McCoy in Oak Grove.
