TVA asks for public input concerning possible grid resiliency program

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is asking for those living in the service region to provide feedback on the Resilience 360° Program.

According to a news release, the TVA is reviewing the program which would allow the power provider to partner with local power companies to provide backup electricity generation with on-site natural gas units or battery energy storage systems (BESS) for qualified businesses that use high levels of electricity. The on-site power generation would put less demand on TVA’s overall power grid.

The plan is expected to improve commercial power resiliency, but before the program is approved the TVA has conducted a Programmatic Environmental Review (PEA) and is asking for the public’s feedback. The PEA addresses the possible environmental impacts of the program.

Folks can provide feedback through April 17 and learn more about the plan at tva.com.
