TVA gets a visit from U.S. Secretary of Labor

The Tennessee Valley Authority got a visit from the United States Secretary of Labor Wednesday in Nashville.

U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer visited the Cumberland Fossil Site, located northwest of Nashville, and while there, she toured the location with TVA CEO Don Moul and other officials. She also spoke with TVA employees, thanking them for their dedication in keeping the power flowing and the lights on.

The TVA took the chance to highlight their goals in strengthening America’s workforce, by training the next generation of skilled workers to power the future of energy.

The Cumberland Fossil Site plays a crucial role in supplying affordable energy to the region, as the largest generating asset in the TVA coal fleet. It generates roughly 16 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, which is enough to supply more than 1.4 million homes.
