The Oak Grove Police Department has arrested two individuals and is seeking a third in relation to an assault at the Hi Road convenience store Tuesday morning.
According to the department, officers responded to the store on Hugh Hunter Road for reports of a disturbance, and investigation revealed that at approximately 3:30 a.m., three individuals attempted to commit a theft inside the business. The clerk was able to remove them from the premises, but they allegedly returned, armed with weapons, and attacked the clerk.
The victim was able to fend off the attacks and they fled the scene.
Police were able to locate the vehicle, and two of the three suspects were taken into custody, with 46-year-old Humberto Guadelupe of El Salvador is charged with complicity to first-degree assault, menacing and public intoxication.
Twenty-six-year-old Alex Artola of El Salvador was charged with first-degree assault, menacing, shoplifting, public intoxication, possession of an open container in a motor vehicle and no operator’s license.
The third suspect has not yet been identified—he is described as a Hispanic male, standing approximately 5’10 with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes. It’s possible he could have sustained injuries to head and face during the incident.
