Two federally charged with methamphetamine, firearms offenses in Hopkinsville

Investigation has led to the arrest of two individuals in Hopkinsville on charges of distribution of methamphetamine and firearm possession. 

According to a news release for the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Kentucky, investigation began with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Hopkinsville where 26-year-old Carlos Daniel Davalillo-Silva and 32-year-old Paola Alexandra Rodriguez, both citizens of Venezulea, had been staying.

That search reportedly revealed approximately three pounds of methamphetamine, and Rodriguez was allegedly in possession of two firearms.  Both were arrested and charged with Aiding and Abetting the possession with intent to distribute meth, while Rodriguez was additionally charged with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. 

The defendants are in state custody and will make initial court appearances before a U.S. Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky at a later date. If convicted, they each face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

There is no parole in the federal system.
