Two injured in Eagle Way collision

Two people were injured in a collision at Canton Pike and the Eagle Way Bypass Tuesday, with one flown to an Evansville hospital for treatment.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, the collision happened around 1:15 p.m. in the intersection and investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 80-year-old Robert Ellis of Hopkinsville attempted to make a left turn from Eagle Way onto Canton Pike.  In doing so, he reportedly turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Laverna White of Cadiz, and the two collided.

White was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment, while Ellis was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana for possibly severe injuries.
