Kentucky State Police is investigating after two people were killed in a semi-truck versus motorcycle collision on I-69 in Caldwell County Thursday night.
According to a news release, it happened at roughly 8:20 p.m. near the 75-mile-marker between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer. Preliminary investigation revealed that the semi and the motorcycle were both heading northbound on I-69, with the motorcycle traveling in front of the semi. That’s when the motorcycle suffered an equipment failure.
The operator of the motorcycle lost control of the bike, and the semi-truck was unable to avoid striking it.
The motorcycle had two riders—55-year-old Michael McAlister and 57-year-old Laura McAlister, both of Princeton—and they were both pronounced deceased at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner.
