A familiar name in the education field to Christian Countians is making her way back into the field—but this time in the public school system, as Beth Unfriend will act as interim principal for Freedom Elementary School.
That takes place as current Freedom principal, Leslie Lancaster, looks to become Director of Personnel in the district starting October 1, so Unfried will assume the role of interim principal until a new principal can be selected.
Unfried served as the Headmaster at University Heights Academy from July of 2018 following a 30-year long education career in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. She retired from UHA in 2022.
She is a Hopkinsville native and resident, a graduate of Christian County High School and a graduate of Austin Peay State University.
