The United Way of the Pennyrile’s campaign is coming to an end in February, and campaign chairs, Chris Jung and Cody Noffsinger also known as Jake and Elwood appeared on WHOP recently to share how close they are to achieving their fundraising goal.
In September 2023 the pair announced their mission of raising $700,000 to support the work of 18 partner agencies which includes organizations such as the Christian County Rescue Team, the Hopkinsville Salvation Army, Trace Industries and more.
Noffsinger says they are currently in the campaign’s homestretch and have raised around $692,000 so far.
The campaign is set to conclude by February 20 which will be the day of the United Way’s celebration at the James E. Bruce Convention Center. Noffsinger says they will be giving out awards and celebrating businesses and donors that played key roles in the campaign.
With around $7,000 more to go, Jung says any and all donations are appreciated and the 18 partner agencies the campaign is supporting play vital roles in the community.
Though he has relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jung says he still cares about the community he was a part of for around 10 years and has seen where the funds raised by their campaign can make a positive impact.
If the campaign does reach the projected goal, Noffsinger says he and Jung will perform a dance routine at the campaign celebration. More information about the United Way of the Pennyrile’s campaign can be found at pennyrileunitedway.org.
