An inspection of the Western Kentucky Parkway bridge that stretches over the Green River will result in some lane restrictions next week.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a contractor will begin an inspection of the bridge that connects Muhlenberg and Ohio counties on Monday and ending on March 13.
During that time, the eastbound right lane of the bridge will be closed while inspectors evaluate its safety. The inspection will then continue in the westbound right lane.
Inspectors will be using a snooper truck that will allow them to examine the bridge’s supporting structures. During the week of the closure, bridge inspection work will be underway each day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists are advised to reduce their speed and stay alert while traveling over the bridge.
