Western Ky. under an Enhanced Risk of severe weather for Sunday

If you have plans for this weekend, make sure you stay weather aware, as the entirety of western Kentucky—including Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties—are now under an Enhanced Risk for severe weather on Sunday.

All modes of severe weather will be possible with any storms that develop, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, who says the main risks at this time seem to be damaging winds and large hail, but a few tornadoes will also be possible.

The tornado risk will increase if super-cell storms develop, but it’s unclear if that will happen. Right now, it seems the severe weather will move through the area Sunday afternoon into the evening hours, though that could be adjusted as the system moves closer to our area.

Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations for more information on this incoming spring severe weather system.
