The Western Kentucky State Fair continues this week in Hopkinsville, with shows in the grandstands and Pennyrile Electric Day on Tuesday.
Speaking with WHOP, WKSF Fair Board Chair Brad Hewell says on Monday the gates open at 4:30 p.m. with $25 armbands for unlimited rides—the always popular petting zoo gets underway at 5 p.m., and then there’s the Ms. Plus Pageant in the air-conditioned convention center at 7 p.m., which is when Arenacross gets underway at 7 p.m.
Then on Tuesday, gates open at 4 p.m. and it’s Pennyrile Electric Day, which means Pennyrile Electric members get in the fair for free with a coupon until 6 p.m. Members would have received that coupon either in their Kentucky Living Magazine or at one of Pennyrile’s membership appreciation events recently.
Armbands will be $25 again for unlimited rides and there will be Go-Kart Racing in the grandstands starting at 7 p.m.
Hewell says the fair has been busy these past four days, with big crowds.
Tuesday also starts the FFA showcases, starting with the 4-H and FFA Rabbit and Poultry Show at 6 p.m. and the Little Roy and Lizzy Show starts at 6 p.m. in the air-conditioned convention center.
