Woman facing wanton endangerment charge following traffic stop

A Hopkinsville woman is facing numerous charges following a brief pursuit last Thursday where a child was allegedly not in the proper safety restraints.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was speeding on Fort Campbell Boulevard and although the driver did initially stop, she drove off again before finally coming to a stop on Walnut Street.

The driver, 23-year-old Izabel Icalcoy of Hopkinsville, allegedly had a one-year-old child seated in the lap of a passenger in the front seat and not in a proper restraint device. Icalcoy also reportedly did not have a valid license or valid insurance.

She was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, failure to use a child restraint device and several traffic violations.
